About: Surface material settings/shaders for antique-themed jewelry, mostly anything involving pearls with gold settings and black satin ribbons. The set includes three pearl settings — flat/low shine, medium shine, and high shine — antiqued gold settings with two different reflection maps, and two styles of satin, flat and shiny.

I have a lot of commercial and freebie jewelry that involves pearls, but they usually render looking like white plastic. White plastic pearls are great when you're five or six, but they don't make the cut when you know better. So I tried to come up with something that looks more like pearls. My pearls have an off-white or pinkish tint, and some are shinier than others — that's what I was aiming for. Many of the jewelry also involve satin ribbons and metal settings for the pearls, so I decided to make a matching set. It's not meant to be comprehensive; only covering black, gold, and pearls. There's plenty of other metal and satin shaders around that folks can use to change those details if they want.

A light set is also included. I'm not sure how it'll work in newer versions of DAZ Studio. The material settings themselves rely on basic surface tab settings, so they'll work in any version of DS. Strong and/or colored lights won't work well with the pearls -- the color will be washed or altered. Flatter surfaces will have less reflective properties; a round bead will be a lot shinier than a flatter medallion-style gem.
